Dr. Costas Tzaras

Dr Costas Tzaras has a B.Sc. in Physics, University of Thessaloniki (1996), an M.Sc. in Mobile & Satellite Communications, University of Surrey, UK (1997), and a Ph.D. in Mobile Communications, University of Surrey, UK (2001). In the period 2000-2007 he worked as Team Leader at Vodafone Global R&D in UK and his team was responsible for the development of new software and new technologies for the radio planning of GSM and UMTS networks across the Vodafone Group worldwide. In the period 2002-2007 he also worked as an academic lecturer at the University of Surrey in UK and taught Mobile Communication modules for undergraduate and postgraduate students. During his academic years at the University of Surrey, he published more than 30 papers and secured both governmental and industrial funding for various projects in the Mobile Telecoms industry with emphasis on radio planning and system capacity. In 2007, he founded a company in Greece and, also, in UK to develop radio planning and network planning software, to perform radio field measurements and to assess quality of service for the cellular industry. His company currently serves large OpCos such as Vodafone Europe/Asia/Africa and other major cellular OpCOs around the world with customer presence in 12 countries worldwide.
