Dr. Fotis Filippopoulos

Fotis Filippopoulos is an award-winning strategic innovation specialist, collaborating with organisations and teams around the world, to devise growth strategies, capture novel market value, and match products to market dynamics. In 2017, was awarded the Mark of Excellence for Best Provision of Industry Information and Intelligence at the European Association Awards.

As an external expert on innovation at the European Commission, he is assisting with assignments aiming to address the challenges European businesses are facing in their innovation efforts. Also, Fotis is a visiting professor at the International Hellenic University and an MIT certified Innovation-Driven Entrepreneurship / New Ventures instructor and educator.

He loves sharing insights through dynamic presentations and talks. Some of his most recent speaking engagements include the 2015 CIBP International Congress, in Rio de Janeiro, a premier global event for the Coop Banking Industry, the 2016 International Summit of Cooperatives, in Quebec City, the world’s leading event for business development in the Coop and mutual community, as well as the Vienna 2017 World Credit Union Conference, the premier global event for the credit union industry.

Additionally, he is an alumnus of the Joint Research Centre (JRC) the European Commission's science and knowledge service and of the MIT Global Entrepreneurship Teachers’ Bootcamp, a highly selective educators' program on Innovation-Driven Enterprises and new ventures leadership as well as a nexus connecting entrepreneurs and startup teams from around the world to the innovation ecosystem surrounding the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Fotis holds a PhD in Consumer Behaviour from the University of Greenwich. In his 5-year long PhD research, applied Personal Construct Psychology to invent a model that establishes a link between emotion and perception of value, by exploring their dynamics within personal and collective construct systems.
