IHU - TU-HH Joint Summer School on Process Simulation and Energy Modelling
Aim
Main objective of the summer school is to provide an in-depth training in all aspects of Process Simulation and Modelling of Energy Conversion Applications. The participants (early stage researchers, engineers or practitioners) will be introduced to Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Process Simulation Tools based on CAPE-OPEN specifications. Focus will be placed on understanding the multi-scale nature of energy conversion processes and the various numerical methods available for their optimization. The participants will be able to analyze case studies of various energy conversion applications by employing computational tools.
Organisers
Τhe Summer School is co organized by the IHU School of Science and Technology and Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH - Technische Universität Hamburg-Harburg) which are currently on a 3-year educational collaboration funded by the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service).

Hands-on Workshop

The School of Science and Technology of the International Hellenic University and the Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH - Technische Universität Hamburg-Harburg) are proud to announce the launch of a 3-year educational collaboration funded by the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) in order to provide common courses in their respective Masters of Science in the field of Energy (for IHU the MSc in Energy Systems, MSc in Energy Building Design).
In the frame of this collaboration, students of the two energy Master programmes at IHU will be given the opportunity to follow an elective course in TUHH, which will be specifically developed and offered in the academic years 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 to Master students of relevant programmes in both universities. Similarly, master students of TUHH in the field of Energy will also be able to follow a specifically developed elective course at IHU. The course offered by the School of Technology of IHU will focus on Modelling and Simulation of Building Integrated Solar Energy Systems, while the one offered by TUHH will deal with Process Modeling of Biomass Conversion Processes. Both courses will be available in the spring semester. Furthermore, students of IHU will be given the opportunity to visit TUHH for 3 months and conduct their MSc thesis in Germany. The same will be possible for TUHH students. Finally, joint summer schools on relevant topics will be organized every year, hosted alternately in Greece and Germany. All travel costs, living expenses and accommodation for students in Greece and Germany will be covered by the Greek-German collaboration project.
